Run, that ye may obtain (1 Corinthians 9:24).
Apostle Paul here illustrates the principle that if one fails to
exercise self-control, self-denial and love with regard to others will never
receive the incorruptible crown. This prize mentioned in this verse refers to
the victory of gaining eternal salvation the precious goal of the Christian
Life.
This goal can only be won by giving up some of our rights for Godly
virtues. We have to renounce those things that would take us out of the race
altogether. We must put on the whole armour of God so that we can stand against
the wicked schemes of Devil. (Ephesians 6:11-17).
While running the race we must be praying in Spirit, always, for
everyone with all perseverance. When we practice the virtues as we find in
(Galatians 5:22-23), Love, Joy, Peace, long-suffering, Gentleness, Goodness,
Faith, Meekness, Temperance we will surely possess eternal salvation or the
incorruptible crown.
Walk in fellowship with God.
Pray in Holy Spirit.
Practice the virtues.
Surely you will obtain the Prize.
God bless you all.
