David a man after God`s own heart.

David believed in God from his youth. He diligently sought the face and counsel of God. He worshipped God and obeyed and carried out his will. 1 Samuel 13:14.

David`s victory over Goliath came as a result of his faith in God that had already been proved in his life. He had a heart for God, to seek the Lord and his face continually. Also he had a deep concern for the honour and reputation of the Lord God of Israel. He trusted in God and not in himself to achieve the victory over Goliath and Philistines.

The spirit of the Lord came mightily upon David to overcome the giant. Whenever God`s children face insurmountable problems and situations they can be overcome when we exercise faith and depend upon the power of Holy Spirit.
