The Christian Life is like a race. In (phil3:12_14) Paul uses athletic imagery. Paul`s goal is Christ`s goal for him, and Christ supplies the resources for him to press toward the goal.

‎          Paul sees himself as a runner in a race exerting all his strength and pressing on with intense concentration in order not to lose the goal that Christ has set for his life. He has resolved that his life, by the grace of God would be centered around his determination to press on and someday get to heaven and see Christ face to face(2 Tim 4:8).

‎          The same determination is necessary for all of us. Throughout our lives there are all kinds of distractions, and temptations, such as worldly cares, wealth, evil desires, threatening to choke off our commitment to the Lord. We must leave those things which are behind and should reach forth, for the final salvation in Christ.

‎          Let us make reasonable progress in spiritual growth and stability by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
