But God commendeth his charity in us; for if when we were yet sinners, after the time Christ was dead for us, – Romans 5:8

God demonstrates his love on the cross. Jesus died for us is the final proof of God’s Love. It is possible for a man to die for some great person. But the wonder of Jesus Christ is that he died for us when we are sinners. Through Jesus our status with god is changed. Though we are sinners we are put into right relationship with god. The change of our status is justification. God’s grace enables us to quit sin and become good. God has proved his love. (Communicates his love in our everyday life).

In John 14:12, we find the confirmation, “Truly, truly, I say to you, if a man believeth in me, also he shall do the works that I do; and he shall do greater works than these, for I go to the Father.

     1. We are able to do greater things.

     2. To preach good news to the poor.

     3. To bind up the brokenhearted.

     4. To proclaim freedom for the captives.

     5. To release the prisoners from darkness and evil.

     6. To comfort all who mourn.

God has set apart every believer to do this work. At the same time we are also set apart by men. So we entirely belong to God. To do this greater task we received the grace. We are not chosen for special honor, but for special responsibility. We must realize the redemptive plan of God.

In 1 Corinthians 13 – we see the right way to exercise all spiritual gifts – the way of love. Love is a fruit of spirit not a gift. The Greek meaning for this word is selfless concern for the welfare of others. It is like Christ`s love manifested on the cross. In the church we are expected to have selfless concern for others. Love is the means by which spiritual gifts are made elective. God has communicated his love to us. Let us communicate God’s love to everyone.
